Daily Cleaning
Sweep or dust-mop regularly to remove grit that can wear the polished surface. Damp-mop with a neutral cleaner — the surface is dense and smooth, so dirt lifts easily. Because there's no film coating to wear, there's no recoating to schedule.
What to Avoid
Avoid harsh chemicals, acidic cleaners, and abrasive pads that can etch or dull the polish. Clean spills promptly. Don't use wax or film-forming coatings — a polished floor uses a densifier and guard, and adding wax can interfere with its performance.
Keeping the Sheen
Over time, high-traffic areas may lose some gloss. A professional re-polishing of the wear surfaces can restore the shine. For routine upkeep, the right cleaners and protecting the floor from grit are what keep a polished floor looking good.
Why It's Low-Maintenance
The durability is in the concrete itself — the surface has been ground and densified, not coated with a film that wears off. That's why a polished floor doesn't need the recoating cycle a coated floor does. The trade-off is a harder surface that can be less forgiving of stains if spills sit.
